Undecided?

When is it better to put your major as "undecided" on a college application, even when you are very interested in a major?

For example: I plan on going pre-med wherever I go, but I just kind of found out that since I haven't really taken any AP science courses my Junior year (though I will my senior year), it would be better for me to apply as "undecided."

Does this sound like a good idea?

I'm guessing i will just go as undecided. It may give me more flexibility later, right?

They don't hold you to what you write down on your application.

And more than half of most applicants apply as undecided.

What you write down when applying has no effect on anything whatsoever...

unless it's a major that's offered at very few schools and you've shown, through your activities and ECs, that you're extremely interested in it. Like... egyptology or something.
