mine recieved an initial review on november 18th (i sent it in in october) and i'm still waiting. 3.6/1320 sat. i've been waiting FOREVER. do you think they're saving out of states for last or something?

I'm under 70 A.I. and just got in today.
1400 SAT
3.4 GPA
Average essays and E.C's

Congrats dusk, looked it up real quick your AI was ~ 64? It's only 3 days in to March, but not hearing anything is sorta making me nervous already... it sucks.

dusk2k2; Did your message on myuw change? Or, did the letter just show up in the mail?

It said that a decision was made. And then I got a letter, in a 8X11 envelope (thin on the inside), that said Congrats...blah blah blah. Below is what is said on the website.

"Your application has been reviewed. All applicants are informed of admission decisions by mail when results of the review process become available."

And don't worry to the guy that is nervous, I didn't know that U-Washington was that hard of a school to get into. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think some people are hyping the difficulty rating of the school...

Well; there may be another guy you are referring to, but I am certainly a guy who is nervous for my daughter. It is now March 6 and not a word since initial review on January 5. Like you her AI is 64-65. I have noticed a trend however, in the past week that concerns me; a lot of people have posted here who got in this week with AIs in the mid to low 50s and I think one person had a 47. What is left? Those who are going to be rejected? I would find it hard to believe. My ds essays, beyond the regular stuff, were very strong. However, she is not conventional; she writes with power and intellect; there was nothing of "please let me in because" kind of stuff. I don't know how that will play with the admissions people. All is left is that old saying: No news is good news. (By the way; congratulations on getting accepted.)

mmboys, i really don't think that the whole process is as coordinated as you believe. I think that, yes, the auto admits hear very early. After that, I think it is a crap shoot as to when you hear- I don't think they go successively down thelist according to AI. Why would they? It is not as though they will hear who accepts their offer, and then go further down the list. Most people will not decide on the school til May, anyway. Timing of offers probably depends on who the admission counselor is, among other things. My d has an AI of 67, applied early, and her message has not changed from the beginning, either. I think your d will get in. The waiting is hard, but most schools don't let you know til Apr 1, so there shouldn't be the expectation that a school with as many apps as uw receives will give a response early. It is not a school with rolling admissions-even if some do receive their decisions earlier.

Well said. When the time comes I would be interested in the results for your d (positive, I am sure). Thanks.

I was looking at the myuw website and I realized that I had forgotten that UW only uses the best single test score rather than composite. Oops.

I got in a 55 AI, out-of-state.

55 ai? i'm 54...that gives me hope! crosses fingers madly

And you're instate!

Good luck! :)

Well, the fact that I haven't gotten in with my in-state 65 AI does sort of worry me, as many people here with lower stats here are now in. On the other hand I just keep telling myself that they probably don't go in any rigid order and they simply haven't looked at mine yet, and then the fact that so many people with lower AIs have gotten in should be a positive sign for me I guess.

O.K. frop. I hope your parents are ready to step up to the plate. At 65 you better be in. In the case of my daughter, if she had been rejected I had already started to assemble a case for appeal. (This assumes, of course, the UW is your first choice.). I have said it before, and I will say it again; the in state kids better get a preference.

Yeah, well I'm just hoping they are taking their time to get to my file. But I totally agree, something is not right if I do not get in. A friend of mine with either 65 or 64 hasn't heard anything yet either though.

I've done running start at Highline C.C. for the last two years, so that means I have no A.P. courses. But, in many ways I think the Running Start program prepares you better than A.P. because you learn how to take college classes and some responsibility concerning attendance and such before you go to the University. However, I really don't know how they treat RS vs AP.

What classes are you taking this quarter at highline? I'm at highline too...

I sent in my app in nov. 22. "initial review..decision pending" since Jan. 5. I'm beggining to wonder if they lost my application, or if i am basically rejected.

What are your stats cd?

Hey cd8705, I think that there are other posters who were/are in the same situation as you. mmboys07's daughter had an "initial review" since January 5, but only found out that she got in like last week. I think you'll have to wait until your situation changes from "intial review...decision pending" to "Your application has been reviewed. All applicants are informed of admission decisions by mail when results of the review process become available" before you receive a decision.

So, no worries, I don't think they've lost your application. I think they're still reviewing your app. Best of luck!

Yeah, I'm in the same situation as you cd, had my initial review on Jan 3rd and am still sitting there, the review process lasts another month though, so I wouldn't be overly concerned.

Don't worry. I sent my app in on October 26th, recieved "initial review, decision pending" message on November 18th, waited FOREVER, and finally was reviewed and accepted last Friday. My AI was 63.
