Undergrad Accounting, UIUC v.s. USC, which is better for job prospects?

Hi,

Can anyone give me some advices on whether I should choose to go to USC or UIUC if I'm determined to major in accounting?

According to the ranking published online:
UIUC's accounting ranking is about No 2, but only ranks about 40 in national general ranking;
however, USC's ranking on accounting is about No. 5, but its national ranking is about 20. (plus USC's strong alumni network)

which would be a better choice? And which school's accounting degree would be more helpful when looking for accounting jobs after graduation?

No appreciable difference between those two highly ranked programs. Are you from the midwest, or … southern California? Both schools are highly recruited from. Where do you want to work?

Well I’m currently living outside of the US so I don’t really have a location preference. Anyway, thanks a lot for your opinion!

So is it like… if I graduated from the U of I, then it’s probably that I may stay in Illinois for work? And if graduated from USC, then might wind up in California? Wouldn’t the accounting firms move me somewhere after I entered the firm?

No not at all. Job fairs and recruiting events happen all year long and employers come from all over the nation. So you could go to Illinois and end up in Chicago, San Francisco, New York, or wherever.
