hey, i was just wondering how the undergrad buisness program at cornell is, and how it compares to other undergrad business schools? any ideas?

you mean how AEM compares to:
wharton
sloan
ross
haas
stern
did i miss anyone?
and probably also for econs at the other ivies + top LACs.

my opinion is that AEM is somewhere around ross and haas.

NO it doesn't quite compare to the schools u mentioned invctus...AEM is ranked 14...1 below UNC-Kenan Flagler!!!!

lol AEM around ross and haas? haha i wish.
These are the US News rankings (which arent always that great, but they do provide a general idea)

upenn wharton

MIT sloan

UCB: haas/UMich Ross

NYU Stern

CMU Tepper/UNC kenan-flager/UT mccombs

USC marshall/uva mcintire

Indiana Kelley/UIUC/WashU Olin

CORNELL/Uwisconsin/Uminnesota

You can't really judge AEM by the US News rankings. It's a newly accredited program, and it was only ranked by US News for the first time this year. Expect to see a sharp rise within the next few years. All that being said, you will get a fantastic business education at all of the schools mentioned. It just depends on where you want to go to school. Do you want a Big Ten school... urban campus.... rural campus, etc. IMO, I wouldn't judge where you will spend the next four years of your life by rankings alone.

Do you know how they rank undergrad business schools? They send a survey to the Deans of all these schools and they rank what they think about the other programs. Since AEM is very newly accredited, it is not surprising that the ranking is so low, based on this system. So basically, the survey measures opinion, rather than looking at school stats.

AEM is one of the most competitive majors to gain admission to at Cornell and has an amazingly high yield rate. The caliber of AEM students is much higher than students of most schools ranked above it.

i've heard good things about AEM from the people there. there's even an AEM blogger i came across one time? anyway.

I suspect ross will get more competitive when it switches to a 4-year prog next year.

"AEM is one of the most competitive majors to gain admission to at Cornell and has an amazingly high yield rate. The caliber of AEM students is much higher than students of most schools ranked above it."

Its high yield rate is due partially to the fact that Cornell and UPenn have the only undergraduate business programs in the ivy leagues.

The caliber of AEM students is not "much higher," it is about equal to kids who are in wharton, sloan, ross, stern, kenan-flager. those business schools including the AEM program are pretty damn hard to get into too and all have great students.
