Undergrad Business Schools

What is more important in selecting a university...the ranking of its B school or its overall prestige? For example, Kelley at IU-Bloomington is ranked #20 by BWeek but overall, IU is not very prestigious. Also is it true that going to midwestern schools like Miami(Ohio), OSU, and Indiana will limit the number of recruiting firms from DC and NY?

UW GPA: 3.93
ACT: 29 (taking again)
SAT: 1960 (taking again)
HS courses I have taken: very rigorous all either Honors or AP(Chem, History, Lit, Calc, Gov, French, Stats)
SAT IIs: plan to take

I am a resident of Ohio. In addition, I excel in cross country and track and think that being a possible varsity recruit will help me get into CMU and UNC especially.

Schools I will apply to: Please Chance Me...it would be much appreciated
Indiana University-Bloomington (Kelley)
Miami(Ohio) (Farmer)
Carnegie Mellon (Tepper)
Ohio State (Fisher)
UNC-Chapel Hill (Kenan-Flagler)
Boston College (Carroll)
Cornell reach

My uncle did hiring for an investment management firm for a while and he said business school ranking is much more important than overall school ranking.

For IU, with those stats, if your math + crit reading is 1280 or higher, or if you can bump your act score up to a 30 you qualify for a 9k/year scholarship and direct admittance to the business school
