Undergrad College with Strong History Program?

Hey guys, I was wondering if there were any undergrad colleges with good history programs. Preferably ones on the east coast.

I'm already considering Boston College and maybe Colgate (still not too sure about the latter though).

Thanks in advance!

if you have the stats, Brown would be a good choice

history is a discipline where virtually any solid college youre otherwise interested in is going to have a strong department. some might be stronger than others, and many will have relative strengths and weaknesses, but all will be pretty good.

the reason is simple: its really hard to get a job as a history professor.

Erica is right. Almost every college in the country is strong in history. Where you go depends on what type of history you want. US (colonial, civil war and reconstruction, southern, African-American, immigrant and so on) or European (English, French, Eastern European, Russian--what period?) South American/Latino? Asian? African? Oceania?

Any of the Ivies, William and Mary.

Thanks for your responses! I'll probably decide on either Asian or US history (though not sure which period yet). I'm just a bit concerned that my stats aren't suited for the upper tier schools like the Ivies.
