Undergrad Major in Operations research versus in Mech E

<p>Is Industrial and Operations Eng considered a sofet engg. As undergrad major is it better to do Mech E or EE and then do Masters in IOE. Does undergrad major in IOE have narrower options compared to an undergrad degree in Mech E?</p>
