<p>No, it won't be a trend. But a guy from Loyola Marymount (New Orleans) is attending Smith for this semester at least. Smith is offering students who can provide off-campus housing (they're full up already) the opportunity to attend classes and they're not making any distinction. He'll be playing in the Smith College Orchestra.</p>
<p>As of Sunday, there were seven students from the affected hurricane areas enrolling at Smith for the semester (the last day for applications was Monday). I'm pretty sure three are male, and one of them is staying with a local student and her family. He had always offered his friend the chance to stay with his family when they had to evacuate in the past (on a much smaller scale).</p>

<p>i'm pretty sure that undergrad males can come to smith on the 12-college exchange anyway. and of course there are male 5-college students all the time. </p>
