[UNDERGRAD] Neuroprosthetics Shools

Hello all,

With application time for colleges running out, I was wondering where I should apply.

I am interested in a career in R&D of prosthetics of neural interfaces, implants, and biomechatronics. I hear Stanford, MIT, John Hopkins, and Duke are the best in these areas but I'm not sure how accurate that is.

I already got deferred (in other words, rejected - very unlikely I'll get in now) from MIT EA, my original top choice (well, there goes that dream :( ).

Bioengineering might be the closest field to your interests, but computer science or neuroscience might be possible pathways, too. In any case, you’ll probably need to wait until grad school before you focus on such a specialized area. Look for schools with strong programs in bioengineering, neuroscience, and computer science. There are many schools with strong programs in those areas besides those to which you applied. Look for schools with large medical research programs, including research in rehab medicine and/or programs in your specific areas of interest.
