Hello, I’m currently an undergraduate student in Houston hoping to transfer to USD by Spring 2018. I have a low GPA and a little extracurricular activities which both are essential factors to being admitted to the school as far as I know. I am trying my best to become a student that USD would want to have. I am now a part of many organizations and working towards becoming an active member in my community. To any transfer transfer students out there, please guide me through the process of having a good chance into getting admitted to USD. I will do anything to get into the school! I am also improving my grades at my current institution.
As long as you are improving your grades, I would say that you should just keep trying to be an active force in your community. For example you could start fundraising to fight social injustices, start a blog about something you are passionate about or write articles about important events on smaller online outlets like thrillest or the odyssey online. You should start doing a ton of community service, maybe joining habitat for humanity in your city, or start a club. Really get invested in a sport or some hobby so they see your dedication to it. I would suggest doing more than one of these thing as USD favors active students. Then once you apply, just add them to your CommonApp
