Understanding the haas curve

hi so I'm a transfer and I just got done with my first semester in UC berkeley's haas undergraduate program. I am still having trouble understanding how the curve works. In a really big discussion class like 200+ if the class is really hard and everyone is struggling and if you do really bad (like an F) on the midterms and final does the curve work in your favor? And if you do really well does it also work in your favor or against you? I didn't do well on my midterms and final :( so I'm just really really confused as to how it works. Please help!!! Thanks!

The curve will almost always work in your favor. Haas’ goal isn’t to fail you, but to pass you so you can go off into the real world representing the brand. What oftentimes may seem as a rawscore of failing will just be written off as a low passing grade
