unfulfilled f requirement.. which of the following should I do?

After submitting my app, I have discovered that I have not fulfilled the f requirement: visual art. I have taken 2 separate (1 semester each) art courses, but neither is year long and they do not build off each other. However, in total, I have taken 3 semesters/ 3 different art courses throughout the duration of high school. My school does not offer any year long art courses except for AP studio art, which you actually have to be an artist to take. My school does not offer AP Music theory, art history, etc. either. If I explain this, do you think they would not care because I am an out of stater with a unique situation?

My other option would be to send the 610 spanish and 680 math II (low scores and even lower percentiles), because with those and my ACT score (33) I would have achieved the minimum score to be excused from the requirements. I feel like these subject tests would hurt me, though, so I would rather them not see it.

My last option would be to say I am self-studying for AP music theory... which I would probably get a 1 on. But nonetheless, I could say that and try the exam. (What would happen if I did get a 1? Could I send in my subject test scores after admitted or something and then they count?)

So what it comes down to...which of the following would Cal/UCLA be most likely to admit me under:

completely ignoring the fact that I have not technically fulfilled f requirement

fulfilling the requirement, but with them seeing my low score subject tests

saying I plan to take/self study the AP music theory (which I am willing to try).

could I say I plan to take an art class at a local community college this summer?

What would you do in my situation? Thank you!

If I remember correct, you have to have this requirement fulfilled before the admission. You may want to check if this is the case. If so, you could register for online community college classes in the Spring or Summer ( your option 4).

I would NOT ignore the requirement.

Just write in extra comments section next to courses that your school didn’t offer year long visual art class and you are planning to take it in a community college during summer. That worked for me.

I agree with @tangledfan. A friend of mine was an international student who didn’t have the opportunity to take any VAPA classes. In his comments section he explained that he never had the opportunity to take such classes and was admitted to UCB.

Take a community college class next semester. One course.fulfills the requirement.
