I know a kid who got 3.6 gpa from a very competitive HS and 31 ACT. He got rejected from his reach school, and went to a lower ranked UC in CA. Got 3.9 gpa, formed good relationships with profs and students. He was wavering whether to even transfer apply to other schools after two very productive years, but finally decided UC Berkeley was the only school he would apply. He got in. Great respect to this kid who took a round about way and learned a great deal about himself and proved to himself that he can rise to a chalIenge. I would not be surprised if he ends up at Harvard Law someday. To OP, with due respect, consider yourself lucky to get into GW with your stats. An ORM kid I know with 3.9 gpa from a very competitive HS and a lot higher test scores “only” got into GW and Univ of Maryland.
Note I am not saying 3.6 gpa is not good, but frankly at a competitive HS in CA, that gpa would not even be top 50%. Literally, 60 to 70% of students make Honor Rolls at some HSs. They should call it Regular Rolls.
