Just an fyi. My D got a nice email after her aud from Webster then another one at the end of March. They were definitely interested in her. She found out on March 25th last year that she was in.

The on-campus part is not mandatory. The email said I was invited to on-campus, but it would not hurt my chances if I could not make it. I was told there are 25-30 kids being considered for their program, and I know of some people who got rejection emails today. So The on-campus is simply so you can do the dance call, but isn’t necessarily mandatory.

JAGMINOR, is the top 25 the same as being in Priority Hold? I got an email congratulating me for being in the “top pool of actors being considered for the Musical Theatre program.” If so then I’m in the top 25 as well! I LOVE this program and Kaitlyn Hopkins!

Whoops, Kaitlin, sorry! haha :P

yup! Priority hold is their way of saying it. I emailed asking, and was told it meant you were in the top 25 applicants, and they will choose from those 25 in March! I love the program so much. Kaitlin is amazing.

Congrats Jag and Oli! I didn’t make the cut for Texas State BFA MT, I’m afraid, but I’m still considering the school’s non-auditioned BFA with Performance and Production emphasis.

I was wondering if anyone who had done acting auditions at schools previously and been accepted or rejected could tell me about their auditions and what reactions they got from the “judges.” A lot of people who watched mine said positive things, but I’m afraid that they just sort of compliment kids in general, to be nice.

I got an email from Texas today too! wooohoo

BlahdeeBlah - see the “Bombs” thread

So, done with the Unifieds! I ended up doing 5 auditions, and won’t find out about 4 of them until later, but I did get a call back to OU, which means I will hopefully be heading to Oklahoma in the next couple weeks! Any thoughts on the programs, or advice?

i have an audition in Atlanta at the Alliance Theatre coming up…has anyone done an audition at the Alliance before??? I want to know what kind of space I will be in. I went to the alliance’s website, and it seems to me that they only have large theatres, no black boxes or anything…

Hi! My son auditioned for two schools two years ago at the Alliance. It’s a lovely theatre! Anyway, there are many rooms upstairs. Yes, there’s a huge theatre on the ground floor. The rooms upstairs vary in space from black box size to classroom size- if I remember correctly. Hope this helps!

Thanks!! Another random question…anyone know anything about Long Island University’s program???

Hi again! My daughter did a walk-in audition for Long Island University at the NY Unifieds. She did that because there were two students who were walking the 12th floor letting students know they were doing walk-in auditions on the 4th floor. The students were great. Anyway, she said the guy who auditioned her was pretty straight up- no beating around the bush. He also said the application fee would be waved. The school is pretty close to Manahattan and it’s about 70% female! My daughter took advantage of the extra audition but it’s too small of a school for her. I know it’s a college campus and they do give great scholarships if your grades/SAT’s are good. They also use the Suzuki method for training. Hope this helps too!

Other than the date and location, is there a website you can find additional info as it relates to unified auditions in Chicago?

I monitored the NYC Penn State auditions…and for any of you (or your S/D) who auditioned, I had SUCH a ball with all of you! Truly wonderful students!! You could tell that there was so much energy and love for what they do in the air. I left that weekend feeling so invigorated and inspired. I wanted to say BRAVO to EVERYONE–NYC Unifieds can be overwhelming (and crowded!)
