United Kingdom Study Abroad Options - Help! Advice Appreciated! :)

Hi everyone! I play on studying abroad through ISEP in the fall of 2012 (Junior year). I know I want to study in the UK, and have narrowed down my choices to Edinburgh Napier University, University of East London, and University of Chester. I've always dreamed of studying in London, but lately Edinburgh has caught my eye, and Chester is between the two so I can visit often. It's just that London has so much to do and I don't know if just a few weekend trips would satisfy me. Money is not an issue for me, but spending all of my dad's money is not exactly my favorite past-time and I would like to save him a bit of cash, and I know London is extremely expensive.

Also, my major is Speech Pathology. I quickly found that not many schools offer any speech pathology courses, so I'm thinking about maybe focusing on my Psychology minor or just getting some extra-curriculars out of the way. Do any of these schools offer good classes towards my major or minor? I've researched as much as possible and I'm hoping that I'm missing something that one of you could possibly have any information about. Also, which schools have the best reputation? I've done some researching and have found that it seems students really love the atmosphere of Edinburgh and that the students are really friendly.

Any other information or advice is extremely appreciated! Thanks so much in advance! :)

In case you didn’t know, none of those schools is at all prestigious.

I’m more about the experience of studying abroad rather than the prestige of the school. My home school is very prestigious, and out of all the programs offered through ISEP (the study abroad program my University goes through) the three schools I listed were the ones that I felt addressed my wants and needs. I’m not looking to get into Oxford - I’m looking for the cultural experience.

If you’re looking for a cultural experience you should discount Uni of East London right away; it’s a terrible university in a terrible location, East London is a dump. Edinburgh Napier is at least in an interesting and exciting city, even if the university is a bit crap. As for Chester… why would you want to go there? It’s a boring little town where nothing much of anything ever happens.

There’s another forum similar to College Confidential that is for UK students; you might want to ask your question about Speech Pathology there. CC prevents the URL from showing up but if you google The Student Room UK you will find your way there. Good luck!
