Units allowed per quarter

eeek, ok. I guess I’m replacing 1B with 1A then.

So what does Physics C get you out of then? Nothing?

^ I think you can petition to get out Physics 1A, but I wouldn’t recommend doing so. AP Physics is not rigorous enough. Also, taking a class that you already know the material can boost your 1st year GPA :)

Since when has Chem 20AH become 5 units? When I took it in my first quarter here it was 4 units. This class prepares you well for Chem 113A (Quantum Chem), I don’t regret taking it, but I wouldn’t recommend it if your major doesn’t require Chem 113A. It’s a rather difficult class compared to other South Campus lower divs that first year students usually take. It doesn’t affect your GPA anyways.

In my opinion, taking North Campus GE’s with Maths/Science is much harder than taking Maths/Science classes only. GE’s are VERY time consuming, damn lots of readings and memorisation and take away the time you need to do your South Campus HW. I also have the impression that North Campus classes don’t really have curves, which can be bad for us South Campus people and slackers. Maths/Science isn’t hard at all (in terms of workload) if you understand the concepts and reasoning. Last quarter I took 5 maths/science and engineering classes and get A’s. However, had I taken 4 science classes + 1 North Campus GE, I would be like, dying. But that’s just me, I don’t take LS, which probably has tons of memorisation.

My bad, chem20AH is 4 units.

Just based on memory (because the Physics department website doesn’t seem to say anything) I don’t think you can do that for Physics - just for Chemistry. I think you can do Credit by Examination though.

What about the timeslot for my (proposed) schedule (fall)? Is it reasonable enough?

Yeah, that’s pretty typical for South Campus.

You might want to try switching some classes around so that you don’t have a one hour gap. They really are the worst because you either a) Go back to the Hill, have 20 minutes to do whatever you need to do, then have to turn around and go back to class or b) You have to hang out somewhere on campus until your next class starts.
