<p>I've never heard that arguement before. Except for MIT, non-Ivy's by definition can not be good. That's why I'm attending Princeton in fall 2008 :)</p>

<p>hey maybells, u of maryland college park is a very very solid university and congrats on getting in. While it may not have the reputation of the "ivy leagues" as awaiting college seems to be going to...(which i highly doubt) it is considered as a "public ivy" one that offers education for less but has the academic calibre and the look and feel of an ivy.</p>
<p>awaiting-college you are an a hole and I hope you don't get into Princeton because it's too good for your kind.</p>
<p>And maybells, UMD is an amazing school, one of the best public universities in the US. I live 45 minutes away from UMD so I happen to know a lot about it, unlike somebody who degrades its name without a bit of knowledge about what he's talking about. My sister went to UMD and had a great time there. She is now in grad school. What do you plan to makor in? UMD has very strong business and engineering programs (Robert H. Smith and Clarke Schools).
