Univ of notre dame or cal?

so i really can't decide. keep in mind i live like 5 mins away from cal. which is a plus and a negative. but the thing i'm most worried about is that if the economy gets worse, will Cal cut back on student resources? i was thinking that since notre dame is a private school, they won't have to worry about government funding... i'm thinking of majoring in biology, but they have similar bio programs. which one would you pick? i've been debating for over a week...

5 mins away? i would go to notre dame lol

^ How do you like your area? If you’re happy being around in your area, you should stick around and enroll in Cal. If you get bored, you can then participate in Cal’s study abroad program wherein you can study a year in Cambridge, Oxford, Warwick, Imperial or UCL. Cal has like over a thousand tie-up schools all over the world including some of the finest schools in China, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Singapore, Italy, Australia, South Africa, France and the United Kingdom.

Go to University of Notre Dame. Paying $200k ($50k a year) in this economy for an undergraduate degree is definitely the thing to do.

You’ll get homesick at Notre Dame. I’ve lived in a lot of other places around the U.S. and even overseas in various countries for about 3.5 years. After you get used to California, nothing ever compares. (I know this doesn’t apply to every single person)

^
not everyone gets homesick.

Hence, why I explicitly stated: (I know this doesn’t apply to every single person)

O_o

I have many friends from my Catholic high school in FL who go to Notre Dame and in general they seem to like it although they complain about the weather and South Bend .Have you visited ND? It’s VERY different from Cal and the Bay Area. Plus about the resources all the privates are being affected too. ND’s endowment which was large but not like HYPS has fallen considerably and has less cushion then HYPS. I heard ND was selling bonds to just cover costs… you may want to research this.

oh oops. lol i didn’t catch that :)
