If you applied for regular admission, yes. You’ll most likely hear back around March 20th, give or take a few days to a week or so.
So do y’all know if the admission decision will be released before March or for Udubb do they wait till then to send it? because I know some schools send it depending on when you submit your application and it will take a few weeks, or do i seriously have to stress for 4 months :(((((( plz some1 let me no
from the past year(s) trends it looks like they only declare the results in mid-March; so you are probably right on the 4 month stress period… but take a deep breath and relax. You have done the best you could and now is the time to focus on the finals and then take the 7th semester easy and enjoy the last of high school time that is left…
Does anyone know if University of Washington is need-blind? I found a website that said they were, but when I go on their official website I can’t seem to find anything.
Does anyone know how to withdraw the app?
Very simple:
https://admit.washington.edu/Admission/Applied
“Please contact Admissions [ https://admit.washington.edu/Contact ] to update any of the following: … You wish to withdraw your application.”
Good luck at Scripps.
@theengels Yes it is need blind. That being said, they do not guarantee to meet your full need.
Just got my UWUB ID email
Do any of you if they only send the decision via mail or does it appear on email/portal?
Is the netID set up thing only for admitted students?
Every one who applied gets one. I remember seeing it on their website sometime back that they’d send one by mid-jan… I guess they were couple of weeks late
I am an international student and i got a 28 on my ACT. I applied to the engineering college with bioengineering as my major. I know i have a low ACT score but will it affect my chances ? since on the UW website it says that ACT/SAT is optional for international students. Other than the okay ACT score i have really good SAT subject score (780 chem , 750 bio , 780 phy and 700 math level 2 ) , good amount of ECs. I know results will be out in a month but i was just wondering about my low ACT score. Do people get in to the school of engg with low ACT scores?
@GAU123 they only accept instate students
@TomS31415 i highly doubt that is true - colleges strive to have a well rounded demographic profile. I’m out of state with a 35 ACT, 4.7 GPA, numerous ec’s, and i started my own business, so i’m hoping that i at least have a chance!
This is so easily disprovable I am not sure why you would say that. A quick look at their Common Data Set shows for the 2014-15 freshman class, out of 6360 that enrolled:
908 nonresident aliens. Nonresident dos not refer to the state of Washington, but to the USA. It means people that are citizens of another country that are not permanent residents of the USA. (Section B)
Percent who are from out of state (exclude international/nonresident aliens from the numerator and denominator): 21% (Section F)
http://opb.washington.edu/content/Common-Data-Set
So 21% of US citizens or permanent residents PLUS another 908 from other countries. I would have to say your claim is spectacularly wrong. @Coloradogymnast4422 you definitely have a chance.
The Seattle Times recently reported:
(1) This year’s freshman application pool at the University of Washington (Seattle) is about 25% instate, 50% OOS and 25% international;
(2) The total number of applicants is 43,334, up from 36,528 in 2015 and 31,611 in 2014; and
(3) The UW expects to enroll about 6,500 freshmen for the fall quarter (4,300 instate and 2,200 OOS and international).
no way, that’s 15%
Sadly it’s true… http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/education/uw-sees-18-rise-in-applications-to-be-a-husky/
I wonder how the acceptance rate is 55% if they didn’t admit half their applicants last year
UW will accept more than 6500 freshman. The are hoping to ENROLL 6500 not to only accept them. They have to take into account than many accepted students may chose to go elsewhere.
Does UW admit students earlier than the expected march timing?
@rvh206 you are correct. Based on the number of acceptances in 2014 (17,451) and 2015 (19,511, which resulted in an over-enrollment), a reasonable estimate would be around 19,000 acceptances this year in order to enroll a class of 6,500.
If the total number of applicants in 2016 is 43,334, up from 36,528 in 2015 (53% acceptance rate) and 31,611 in 2014 (55% acceptance rate), and they accept 19,000, the acceptance rate would be around 43.8% this year. The “yield” over the past few years has been in the mid 30% to 40% range.
