Application submitted. Now the long wait of 4 and a half month starts… yawwwnnnn…!!
I still have one essay left, don’t know what to write about lol…
Thanks for creating this thread! I just submitted my application too. What is everyone applying for?
Computer Science direct Admit
I just toured the Seattle campus this weekend and did a residence hall tour. Very beautiful campus and exactly what I’m looking for in a school. I am considering Communication - Journalism, English, or Molecular/Cellular/Developmental Biology with a minor in Statistics.
Found out I made a huge mistake on my application right after I turned it it FML
The application says to exclude AP credit classes from the college in the high school section. But what if a class taken in high school by a high school teacher is both AP and Dual Credit? The app offers an option to select AP, Honors, Dual Credit, etc. for each class, but does not allow more than one answer. Since the class is already listed in the high school section as AP, should it also be included in the college section as Dual Credit?
Where did you guys enter in your volunteer services. On the application, there was only room for five achievements or activities. I didn’t see any option to submit any volunteer hours.
Also, I plan on majoring in computer science? Would I get into that major as a freshman or would I need to apply during my junior year? The University of Washington has a different admission process that what i’m used to in Texas. For instance, in an in-state Texas college, once you apply for a selective major, it’s hard to get into the school with that particular major.
UW admits a handful of students directly in to the CS Program. Last year it was 40 I think. Refer to this link below
https://www.cs.washington.edu/prospective_students/undergrad/admissions/direct_admission
The other students have to take specific courses and then apply some time in their sophomore year. They admit about 1/3rd of all the people who apply in the sophomore year…i.e. the admission to CS is very competitive at UW
I’m an international student applying to University of Washington for the Computer Engineering program. How long is it until the deadline, because applyweb says there’s no time remaining, and the University of Washington website says there’s time until 11:59 PM PST on 1st Dec, which is more than 24 hours away.
I’m freaking out right now. Please reply soon
Tomorrow midnight pacific time is the last you can apply there… i.e. 36 more hours from now.
@bilzerian The countdown was wrong for a while (said it was due tonight at midnight) but it looks like they got it fixed. Check again maybe? Good luck!
submitted at 9PM, but didn’t get a confirmation email? The confirmation page is on the application page though…
Ok so I’m freaking out…I had applied for a fee waiver not knowing that I would get a response so quickly (within 10 mins). I had spent hours on that application. I am yet to pay the $70 since my fee waiver was denied. Does this mean that my application won’t be reviewed? If so, that’s a total bummer…
@DreamBigKid when did you submit your application?
My application was confirmed on 2nd December, but sent on 1st. Is my application going to be considered?
@bilzerian I’m sure you’ll be fine. As long as you submitted on the 1st, don’t worry! Mine was confirmed on the 2nd too
@nemo18 thanks
Btw did Washington have an early decision / action application?
Nope. All decisions come out the same time, some time in March time frame.
Does anyone know if your intended major can change your chances of acceptance? I put neurobiology with general biology (physiology) as 2nd choice.
Is it really going to take until the end of March until we know?
