@MyUWChances So tonight is the Brazilian night lol
@MyUWChances My transcript shows “pre-science”, and I applied to Computer Science. My stats are quite high (I really don’t want to post specifics here), but as someone previously said international students are never DA (or almost never). DA spots are almost all reserved for in-state students, as a means to avoid “loosing” great students to other universities. Still, let’s wait two more weeks, since DA decisions usually come out later.
@warrior1208 no, it would say comp sci if you were getting DA
Computer Science in a B.S. so that’s why it’s saying pre-science
@warrior1208 Pre-science means you did not get direct admission into the major, read about it on the UW website.
Anyone in the US get accepted tonight? :))
I think this is how it goes first it was in-state, second out of state, third international so tonight it’s international night
Now my application status page was updated, but I haven’t received any email with the decision until now, as international students are supposed to.
@meltingsoull probably international night hahahaha
@skywalker11 Same here. My stats are kinda high but most likely not as high as yours. 116 TOEFL - 1480 Composite SAT - 2130 SAT and 90% HS average. I just wanted to know if any International applicants got DA, but it doesn’t look like it.
@skywalker11 I am actually the only in-state person that I know that got direct. I know a Canadian who got direct I think.
@skywalker11 How did you see the update on your application?
@collegeplanner11 @72soop Thank you for your replies. So, the website says that I would need to complete some courses before gaining admission in my desired major. How hard is it to get into CS? I will be taking Calculus and CS APs this May. Please help! Thanks!
OMG I GOT IN!! International student from Singapore.
@collegeplanner11 interesting, and good to hear that. A couple of days ago some people on this thread were kind of laughing over OOS and internationals who thought maybe they could get DA, saying that like 99% of DA spots are “reserved” for in-state students. I really though that was unreasonable from UW to do something like that, so the information you provided really shed some light on the matter at hand.
so do you think it will going in cycles of three until the 31st? like one night in state one night out of state and one night international?
@warrior1208 I think CS is fairly competitive, you are basically reapplying for your major after the first year. I have the same problem I got admitted pre-engineering, but I applied for bioengineering.
YAY so i’ll check back tomorrow night goodnight y’all congratulations @skywalker11 you deserve it
@Hooper13 just log in on MyUW, click on Admissions on the left tab, then click on “International Freshman Application: autumn quarter 2016” under “Check your application information”, right on the center of the page. An alternative to that would be to click on your “Unofficial UW Transcript”, on the bottom right of the portal, and see if it loads something different from the “500 Error” or something like that.
HOLY **** I GOT IN! International student in Dubai guys!
Now, im a bit confused and hope one of you can help me out. I applied for Business as my first choice and Envir. & Resource Management as my 2nd choice. My transcript says College of Arts & Science and Premajor A&S.
Not sure if business falls under that. Help anyone??
Anyone get accepted that is not international, instate, or oos in a state surrounding Washington LOL
Thank you so much @meltingsoull ! And good luck for you all guys, I am sure you are all incredible people who will do amazing things (some of you already have, I presume)!
