Currently a Junior in a competitive high school; also a well known and accredited public district in Illinois. (D211).</p>

Regular: 3.8772: 33 out of 643: 5.1%
Weighted: 4.5662:24 out of 643: 3.7%</p>

<p>1 AP as a sophomore (all we could take). AP Euro (4).
Currently taking 4 AP's: U.S., Physics B, Lang and Comp, and Psychology
Senior courseload: AP: lit, calc AB, Macro, Stats, bio, spanish, Government.

<p>I just took the Feb. 9 ACT-waiting on those results-probably got a 26? I'm not a great test taker. I received a 175 on my PSAT.</p>

<p>Extra Curricular Activities:</p>

<p>Student Council Member-9,10,11,(12) Student-Faculty Bball Game: raises money for Dollars for Darfur and the Carrie Burke Scholarship (memorial for a student that passed away at our school). I will possibly shoot to be on the board senior year.</p>

<p>Freshman-Soph Bowling team-9
Varsity bowling team at Hoffman Lanes also during the season.
Have not continued bowling with school, but I will join a league this summer.</p>

<p>Philosophy Club- discuss whatever's on our minds, life issues, music, justice, etc..
Plan on taking a Philosophy course this summer at a community college</p>

<p>SAE (Student Action for Education)-10,11,(12).- Diabetes/cancer walks, Special Olympics volunteer, give out turkey dinners/gifts during the holidays, etc..</p>

<p>Book Club-9,10,(11), (12)-not of a whole lot of importance, just listing it here for you guys to see.</p>

<p>Science Club-9-again, small club that I just joined.</p>

<p>Physics Club-10-more of a prep class for AP physics, learned some of the curriculum ahead of time.</p>

<p>Varsity Girl's Basketball Manager-11,(12)-basically set up the boards, pass out water, help the girls out, film games, take score, etc...</p>

<p>Also a Co-captain for Relay for Life (cancer awareness). Earned over $1000 for cancer research and participated in hosting games, fund raisers, etc at the relay. Really fun, plan on doing it again this year.</p>

<p>Finally, My friends and I are tryiiing to start up a Volunteer club that would cate to a bunch of local, national, and international charities. I don't think it'll get as far as we hope, but I'm thinking we can get it started soon.</p>

<p>Oh, volunteer work:</p>

<p>Alexian Brother's Hospital: Work at the Front Desk, greet people, help with directions, deliver items to patients, escort patients, etc..</p>

<p>Volkening Farm: Work at the Special events held for kids-do crafts, cook, kid's games, showcase heritage, farmlife, etc..
Also work at the cabin and do the above, along with gardening, historic preservation, etc.</p>

<p>I also plan on finding some sort of animal shelter to volunteer at soon.</p>

<p>and I would like to become a pharmacist, but I have many different interests as you can see ^ =).</p>

<p>lisa, i will reply because i understand the frustration of having no one reply to your posts. Chicago, northwestern, columbia - slight reaches. unc - match/slight reach. In easy to all the others. If you get the ACT to a 32, you will be fine at all of them. take it as many times as possible; superscoring is the key to success at standardized testing.</p>

<p>Looking good! Work on becoming a better test taker and odds are you'll get into at least half of those schools. You are obviously a very bright kid so you probably know a 26 on the ACT will be a problem--but you're just guessing, so it could be you'll score quite a bit higher. There's plenty of time for retakes too. Also, some of those schools are going to want to see SAT II's, so think about preparing for taking those just following the corresponding subject classes.</p>
