I'm interested into majoring in History when i get into college, and i was wondering what universities had the best history/American history program?

Assume getting in/money isn't a problem atm.

Thanks :D

History is such a major department that most any strong university will have a strong history department. I don’t think there are any assessments of undergraduate history programs. There are a lot of top universities known for having good history departments. Maybe want to narrow it down by region or type of university?

I’m biased but I’ll say NYU is one of the best.

Based on what?

I concur with Edd. Any good college - especially a top LAC - would not have developed with reputation without a solid History department.
