Hey:)

I was wondering what universities in Canada the the most internationally recognized?
Also, for the top universities in Canada, etc UFT, Mcgill, Queens, what American Universities can they be compared with, and why?

thanks in advance!

For that, referring to a university rankings list will probably be adequate. The top would be McGill, UofT, and UBC (moreso in Asia than in the States).

You’d also have different recognition/prestige factors based on the program. For example, Ivey’s School of Business at UWO is quite well known, as is Waterloo for its mathematics and engineering.

I don’t really know much about comparing Canadian universities to American ones in terms of prestige. Graduate programs from UofT and McGill might be comparable to the Top 20 in the US. I have heard that undergraduate programs in Canada are somewhere around UMichigan.

It depends on the program but usually overall it is

McGill>(sometimes =) UofT>UBC; usually because of the sheer size of such institutions versus the other Canadian schools.

If only UofT got rid of their Scarborough and Mississauga campuses, if only.
