Hi there,
I’m new here. My sister has these three choices of colleges to attend. She’s interested in premed or computer science. Cost isn’t really an issue, but right now, University of Washington is a little more expensive of the three (We live in California, so I’m guessing we’re paying OOS).
Which of these 3 would you recommend? Which is the most academically strongest?
Also, any generic information about any of the 3 colleges regarding culture, atmosphere, and obviously academics is well appreciated. Thanks!
UBC and U Washington will have similar climates. Both are rated highly for computer science. UBC will be a lot more diverse. UBC will be very strong in both computer science and life sciences. If your sister is academically weaker than her peers it will be difficult to get a higher GPA at UBC (which would be necessary to get into med school). It may be easier to get a computer science job if she goes to U Washington since she will be closer to the hiring companies.

Was she admitted to computer science at all 3? I was just reading in another thread that a lot of kids are not admitted directly to computer science at U Washington and it is very competitive to get in to comp sci for sophomores and juniors.
