Hi, I am trying to decide between UCF and Embry Riddle, Embry Riddle seems to have the well established program, but is lacking the big school feel that I loved about UCF. So I guess what I am trying to say, how good of an aerospace engineering program does UCF have. I am also hesitant because UCF doesn't have you take programs in your major until after two years while ERAU seems to start day 1.

Looking forward to hearing what others have to say. My son was accepted into both with a Presidential Scholarship at ER. However, he hasn’t toured either yet.

I really do want to hear some feed back, I also received a scholarship and it looks like I should get some merit money. However based on UCF’s net price calculators I should receive quite a bit of money as well, I understand ERAU has an outstanding program but from what I understand the college experience and campus life is nothing of what I really want at UCF.

I would pick UCF. It is less expensive, has better students, a higher retention rate, and more research ops. On the other hand, you will get smaller class size at ERAU.

You’ll find the 90+% of the courses (outside of your liberal arts electives) that you would take your first two years are the same at both universities. ERAU’s first year program is not that much different than UCF’s (or any ABET accredited engineering program).

UCF has a decent program, with strong connections to local (Florida) companies (as does ERAU). For example, Lockheed Martin is one of the top recruiters at UCF.

Good Luck!

Thank you very much!

Rogracer, after looking at some of your other posts I understand that you are a recruiter for Lockheed, at company that I could only dream of working for. I have heard that Lockheed does recruit from specific schools more than others, so what I was wondering was what school would look best, I am accepted into ERAU, UCF, Florida Tech, Cincinnati, and I am waiting to hear back from Michigan. I also live in Akron Ohio, not far from one of Lockheed’s facilities.
