Has anyone heard of UC-Lab? How is their curriculum? How do they compare to Exeter, Andover, Deerfield, etc?

Do you know anything about their academics?

It’s a very good school however a lot of kids that I know only go there because they got rejected from the best public schools in Chicago.

May I please ask that you clarify when you said “Rejected from the best public schools in Chicago?” I would really appreciate it.

Yes! Chicago has selective enrollment public schools. Admission is based on grades, ISAT scores, and another entrance exam. Basically the best schools (in order) are Northside, Payton, and Whitney Young. Lane is also very good. These schools are extremely selective and you basically need straight As and perfect test scores to be accepted. These schools, especially Northside and Payton have amazing resources and offers an amazing education. The public education system in Chicago for high school is kind of very unequal.

Ohhh, yes I have heard of Northside, but shockingly none of the others. You see, I had gotten accepted to tenth grade at Lab, and I am skeptical about it.

I’m sure it’s a really good school though but I don’t know if it’s worth the money. But I really don’t know a ton about it, I’m a senior at northside.
