Hey everybody! I am currently an International Baccalaureate senior in Fort Collins, Colorado. I am hoping to major in International Studies/Relations or Asian Studies and learn Hindi. I will hopefully double major or minor this degree with a Public health degree (Global health at UW) or an environmental sustainability degree. My top two choices are UW and CU but i am having a very difficult time deciding which to go to! UW is quite a bit more expensive than CU instate tuition but has a much better international program than CU. Both are similar sizes and any advice would help me tremendously. Additionally, is it possible to apply for student housing in the residence halls without accepting the admission? Thanks a ton!! :]

is it possible to apply for student housing in the residence halls without accepting the admission?

If you attend as a non-matriculated student you can apply for housing. But then your priority level will be 4, which means a room will not be avail fall quarter…and the odds of subsequent quarters are pretty low

thanks!! I was simply wondering because if that was possible, it would take the stress off of deciding which of the two to attend quickly due to getting a good dorm.

honestly a “good” dorm room is subjective anyways.

If you were out of state for both, it would be a no-brainer but since you live in Colorado I assume it’s a hell of a lot cheaper for you to go there. I visited CU and thought it was nice, but UW is just a much better school. If money isn’t much of an issue, I’d choose UW (obviously, since that is what I did) but you might want to visit first before choosing.

Colorado is an excellent academic institution as well. Just not as good as UW.

If you’d rather save money, please choose Boulder. If you want to go to UDUB and have the resources, go for it.

i’m pretty sure Boulder is a serious party school

thanks everybody. I think i am going to go to CU and save some money for grad schoool. Im going to try and get into udub for that!

To some people UW is a serious party school…
