University of Delaware Class of 2022

UP. Delaware is his first choice. I think after they get his midterm grades it will be over.

@hockeybuff17 the admissions process is such a crapshoot. UP was my son’s first choice but he got pushed to Altoona. He only applied to UD last month & was admitted in a few weeks. Good luck

Accepted students days? Hi - We are still waiting with fingers crossed on my DS’s application. Hoping it’s any Friday now! Since he hasn’t yet been accepted I don’t see dates for Accepted Student events although other colleges have this info as part of their main websites. Would anybody mind sharing upcoming Accepted Student event dates? My son is just waiting for UD as his final school, and it’s his top two. He wants to attend the next available event (obviously, assuming and after he get accepted) to make his decision ASAP. I’d like to pencil it in on the calendar. Thanks!

@CollegeMomnPop There is one this Saturday the 24th & then April 14th & 21st.

@Cookies510 This may be a stupid question, but can you sign up for these events ahead of becoming accepted?

@abbyrubycookie I think the only way to sign up is through a link that is in the portal of accepted students. Apparently the one for this Saturday is filled and they don’t hold another one until 2 weeks before the deadline which seems crazy to me.

@Cookies510 Thank you! I want to pencil them in since i’m sure you’re sympathetic to crazy, busy calendars!

Accepted students day for this Saturday is booked. So after waiting 16 and 1/2 weeks for any reply, my daughter finally got accepted! But I think the universe does not want her going to UD becasus they next accepted student days aren’t until 4/14 and 4/21!!! I was hoping she would make a decision by then! Does anyone really wait until the week before national decision day to go back to the college? She did her original tour fall of junior year so needs to go back. I guess she will need to just do another regular tour, but it’s odd that after saturday, they don’t have another student day for almost 2 months!! And I think the only way to book is through the portal which only showed the option upon acceptance.

@jlg0143 - I agree. April 21 is so late! March should have at least one event. My son’s other colleges allow classroom visits, so maybe a weekday request can be made at UD?

@jlg0143 Exactly my thoughts - although we weren’t waiting for a decision for quite as long for this particular decision. I have no desire to drag this out until the very end. I can’t believe they don’t hold another day in March. I don’t think a regular tour will give the same feel of the campus or provide as much info.

Just got off the phone with admissions. They said my application is near the end of the review process and I should expect a decision on my portal by the end of the week. Hopefully it’s good news!!!

I spoke with admissions today and this Saturday’s accepted student’s day is the first one they are holding which explains why its full (aprox. 5,000 attendees). They did mention weekday admitted students tours are available.

@mellyp2000 Yay. Fingers crossed for you.
@Cookies510 Wow. 5,000 attendees kind of sounds awful.

This group’s information has been very helpful. Thanks everybody and fingers crossed for good news at the end of this week for those of us still waiting.

@mellyp2000 congrats hope it’s good news!! Do you see your mid year grades being received on the portal?

@mcjc626 No, but they were receieved.

I called, they do not update the portal that they received mid year grades. Has anyone actually been accepted yet since they sent in their mid-year grades. If so, how long after they received the mid year grades?

UDel did not formally request I send in the grades; I sent them in in the hopes that it would help them make a decision more quickly. They were received on 2/10, and I will likely be hearing a decision this week.

The letter for mid year grades appeared on the portal this morning. My son did not receive a formal request via email.

@JerseyMom2022 @seashell123456 If you apply via the common app, the Guidance Counselor is required to report any disciplinary issues. So I would not lie or omit any suspensions.

anyone get accepted for criminal justice???
