I got accepted to both UD and George Mason, but I'm not sure where to go. I want to go to a nice campus with a lot of options because I don't know what I want to do yet. Which would be the better choice?

Sorry about title. I meant University of Delaware OR George Mason

Well, George Mason’s strong point is that it is near DC, but it is still making the transition from a commuter school. On the other hand, I live near the U of D and it’s in the middle of nowhere (useless without a car, which I certainly don’t have), but it’s a fun school with good academics.

I used to think of GMU as 100% commuter school but it’s actually becoming pretty residential, although a bunch of students still go home on weekends. I think they’re attracting more OOS students lately though, so their campus life won’t be the dead atmosphere you might find at a real commuter school. They’ve got a number of good programs, and their political science and computer science departments are actually very well regarded.

I think the business program at GM is excellent, our firm having hired several kids from there. Being in the Northern VA/DC area, there are plenty of great opportunities for internships. The state of VA (commonwealth? whatever) is putting a lot of money into GM becuase so many kids are getting shut out of UVA.
