I just heard that Denver was a cool school because I'm looking for a smaller private school feel, with a nice campus.

Denver also seems like a much cooler city than alot of college towns...

Boston College is one of the most overrated colleges in the country. Its above average and definitely a little better DU. The fact that USNEWS has it ranked near michigan and ucla does not make any sense whatsoever. 30 years ago both my parents used BC as a safety school. Both got in. Both my parents did not do all that well on the SAT's. The only reason the school is on the map is because of its sports teams

While I'd love to say that BC is incredibly overrated, and only where it's at because of the sports teams, it's still a fantastic school academically, and lightyears ahead of DU. What happened with your parents 30 years ago is a pointless anecdote, which adds nothing to the conversation. My mother went to Columbia 30 years ago, and while it was still a great school academically, it was significantly easier to get into than it is now. Does that make it a bad school? That's what you seem to be insinuating...

If Denver isn't the greatest school, then does anyone have some suggestions for schools around the same size with more renown academics, a good greek system, and a cool town that isn't impossible to get into?
