University of Florida 2025 — Regular Decision

Yes that is an excellent point.

USC is best in country for computer game design, has great weather, gives amazing National Merit $, amazing school spirit, and just seems like a great place to be.

Chicago, I guess I like the idea of challenging myself at perhaps the most difficult liberal arts school in the country. Just to see if I can do it. They also are at the beginning of a world class CS department having recently recruited the former head of Berkeley’s CS department.

UF is a great school, but I haven’t heard too much positive things about their dorms. The majority are very old and not updated from what I’ve read. I know a dorm won’t be the deciding factor on my decision, but if accepted as an incoming freshman, does anyone have any suggestions on some good housing? Thanks

The UChicago campus is stunningly beautiful–one of the best in the country. But, it is famous for being the school ‘where fun comes to die’. The academics are top-notch tho, rivaling Stanford, Yale, and Harvard in the liberal arts.

Yes. My brother, a freak of nature academically, goes there. And he actually loves it and so do his friends.

But I do have much doubt whether Chicago is a good fit for me, even if I were to get in.

if you can get into UChicago then you are obviously a top notch student and you will be successful wherever you go. if having a lot of fun/partying is appealing to you then maybe UChic isn’t the best option, but in the end, its all up to you.

But it seriously wasn’t my intention to blow up this board with stuff other than Florida. I’m just nervous like the rest of you and excited for tomorrow and thought I would ask a question that has been running through my head about Florida vs. Michigan.

Thank you all, and good luck to everyone tomorrow!!!

Honestly, I’ve been so stressed about Florida that it’s nice to talk about another school

Yes, these boards are so helpful, and yet so scary at the same time! No matter what the school, I end up in utter disbelief with the stats of the kids that get rejected, or deferred, or waitlisted. These are seriously crazy times and literally the worst year in history to be applying to college.

By the way, lots of deferred people get in to Michigan usually.

Really?

Yes. Michigan, at least recently, defers most students apparently (in previous years it was speculated they just didn’t have the staff to get to everyone before Christmas). Many of my brother’s friends were deferred in December two years ago and then got offers of admission shortly into the New Year. I’m not sure if this year will be the same since the EA decisions came out later. But don’t give up hope!

I didn’t get the reminder email, and I submitted my application on the sixteenth. Is this a mistake? I’m freaking out hahah

What reminder email?

the one about the portal that people were talking about a few hours ago

You mean the “Your Guide to UF Decision Day!” email?

I applied on 11/16 also and got the email today at 11:29 am ET.

Has your application been complete on the portal? Maybe you should call admissions to make sure you are getting a decision tomorrow. The email invites you to contact them.

If you have any questions regarding your decision, send us an email or give us a call at 352-392-1365. We are here to help!

I think if your application wasn’t/isn’t complete, you don’t hear until end of March (I think I read that somewhere, but could be confusing another school).

Same here with people from my school. I received it but plenty of people who submitted and completed their app way before the deadline didn’t receive it. I highly doubt it has to do something with the type of decision you will get though.

A lot of emails end up in junk folders especially since they are sent in big groups - everyone was sent an email who applied on-time

Can someone let me know what they think of my stats? I’m like on the lower end of 50% accepted students and I’m new to this and I’m really nervous. I have a 30 act and 4.4 Weighted GPA at the end of my junior year. I’m OOS as well. Just based on that info am I more likely to be accepted or rejected? Because I read that there are no deferrals for UF.

Also my intended major is finance and I am a female.

I have the same stats as u. I think we should be fine. Test scores should be lower this year so we should be fine. As long as ur rigour and EC’s are good then u r fine
