DEBUNKED There’s is a conspiracy on reddit, someone humor me. When i go to https://my.admissions.ufl.edu/portal/AST I have to sign in and then it lets me book a tour. Can anyone else try booking a tour and see if it works for you? This is the admitted students tour btw, and you must be logged in to access the page. Thanks!
Aight, thanks for the clarification. There’s always conspiracies happening on reddit haha. I guess that what happens in an echo chamber of a bunch nervous 17-18 year olds!
Thank you Melissa for all your help. My daughter is eagerly awaiting her decision tomorrow. She has such a strong connection to Florida. Both my mom and i were gators. My best friend is a gator and her daughter is a freshman at UF. My friends daughter is living in the same dorm my mom lived in back in 50s!
And the picture of the statue in the email today (Gator on the globe) was donated to UF by a friend of mine. I’m taking that as a good omen!
I read an earlier posts that UF is not likely to have any deferrals but does anyone know if that might be different this year because of Covid? Like they are more likely to defer people or is that completely out of the question and it’ll be mostly acceptances and denials? What would even make UF defer someone?
Is this the one you refer to? It has been there forever.

Good luck to your daughter @novamadre ! And, Go Gators!
I have a similar connections to UF and we were happy to plug in our connections to UF on the supplemental application last year. However, much earlier in this discussion board, someone shared a checklist of what admissions considers. I believe it said legacy is not considered. I’m just curious if anyone knows why they ask for up to 3 UF alum relationships (my student applied last year, was rejected, and is currently a transfer applicant) on the supplemental app and while claiming that legacy not considered?
If that question was not on this year’s application, please disregard!
If we’re being honest, I think it’s only US News rankings that back this up. I honestly think UGA is making more impactful gains that UF in teaching and supporting high performing students and broader student research. UF is going the other way with virtual classes and lack of capital investment. From a national perspective, no one thinks that UF is a hands down better school than OSU beyond the US News ranking.
