University of Florida 2025 — Regular Decision

Anyone know if we are still able to start in the term we chose if we got the PaCE offer? I applied for Fall 2021 but was offered PaCE, but I’m not sure whether that changes what term I begin.

Accepted
3.7 UW/ 4.0W
1200 SAT.
5 IB Classes, 3 AP’s. Tons of Honors Classes
OOS. A lot of extracurriculars and leadership positions.

Very shocked that I was admitted.

@2025gn there is Pace dorm.

Melissa - Did the school accept more students into the Pace program this year? Seems like the number of admits is much higher than last year.

Yes, my son got this offer. Not exactly sure what it entails.

I’ll have to check, I know we are planning on enrolling roughly the same amount as last year.

My daughter is in honors this year. We think the selection is based on what you will contribute to the honors program. The kids living in the honors dorm are not"nerds" or study all the time. Every student at UF is honors level. Very few kids get into honors. Just my 2 cents

Very disappointed my d didn’t get in. It was her top choice of schools. She only had one B in high school and worked her butt if with the focus of getting into UF all four years. She took a mixture of classes including AP/DE and had a 1330 on her SAT. She has no desire to go to the other schools like Virginia Tech and FSU that accepted her. My older daughter loves UF. I’m very upset. Congrats to those who made it. She’s already talking about transferring there in the future. She’s so smart and the hardest worker I know. :frowning:

Did you son apply to a specific major, momofboysFL? (I am also a mom of boys…lol)

A few years ago my nephew was devastated not get into UF. He spent a year at USF Tampa and then was accepted to UF as a transfer student. He graduated UF with an engineering degree. I know it’s ideal to love the college you go to right after high school, and maybe that will still happen. But transferring can be a viable option. Good luck to her.

He applied to electrical engineering, but the letter didn’t specify a major.

The chain suddenly came to a halt. What school are people waiting on next ? :). Miami. Emory. William and Mary.

Wait I thought you only had to do one year of online classes if you’re doing pace. Am I wrong about that?

It depends. You transition to campus to when you are ready to be a junior. Many students come in with a lot of test and dual enrollment credit. The minimum amount of time that PaCE requires is 15 credits at UF and at least 2 semesters.

I have a daughter who is in the class of 2023 who is in the honors program. Amazing SAT and ACT scores and almost 5.0 GPA. Her younger sister has nearly the same test stats but a slightly lower GPA at 4.8. She got accepted into UF today but not into Honors. D 2025 also had amazing test scores so that can’t be the reason. Maybe it really is the essay? Although I think D 2025’s essay was good. I think there might be an element of luck here… Am somewhat disappointed but in the end, it will be okay.

How do we figure out what AP, AICE and DE classes count towards general Ed, electives, etc

If the dual enrollment is through a Florida public then common course numbering says the course should be treated the same. If the dual enrollment is through a private or out of state school then Transferology can help you know if a class has already been designated equivalent Transferology
We have not gotten any potential changes from the articulation committee for tests yet but this is where you can see what last year’s students received. Normally they are similar but there can definitely be some changes.
