University of Florida & U Miami chances.

Hi, I'm a rising junior. I've slacked off a lot in high school (compared to others on this site...)

Some of these stats are tentative, but any critiquing and ways I can improve will be much appreciated.

Hooks: first-generation college student, my mom is the only one working in our household (does that count?...), don’t know specific income but I’m pretty sure it’s under 50k. Very positive upward grade trend.

Grades:
End of junior year, expecting a 3.4 UW & top 25% of class. Plan on kickin' it into gear and getting straight A's.
Junior year classes:
Algebra II (regular, ugh), Art II, AP Lang, first aid, AP USH, AP Bio, & Yearbook. Is this rigorous enough?

SATs & ACTs:
I took the pre-ACT sophomore year, and I got a 19 composite. PSAT was a 1430. They’re low, I know. Both testing days my anxiety was at an all-time high because I felt like these tests, even though they're for preparation and guidelines, determined my whole future. I'm going to take prep classes and even though it's a reach, I'm aiming for a 30 ACT and a 2000 SAT. "if your dreams don't scare you, they aren't big enough"

Extracurriculars:
- Mock Trial 10 11 12.
(A-team lawyer anticipated senior year.)
- Teen Court 10 11 12.
(Lawyer for 11 & 12)
- Youth group 9 10 11 12.
- A/V director for my church 10 11 12.
- Yearbook 11 12
(Editing position for 12th.)
- Tarpon Leadership Academy 11 12
(Planning committee.)
- Key Club 11 12

Non-school ECs:
- Does going to the gym count as an extracurricular? Anyway. 11 12
- Self-teaching Russian 11 12
- I work on writing a novel in my spare time. 11 12

Volunteering:
- 250-300 hours from volunteering at a library, the hospital, teen court, & other various activities.

Essays & teacher recommendations:

Writing is really my forte, so I’m expecting my essay to be pretty, well, awesome.
From what I gathered, UF doesn't take teacher recs into consideration, but as far as UM goes, I have some great relations with my teachers and I know a couple of them would speak highly of me

So, yeah. Give me your worst.
