I have been accepted to UGA and UMich but im stuck on what to do. I’m leaning heavily to UGA due to finances as it would be much cheaper (like ~25k). I am wondering if there are any advantages to Michigan over Georgia that could influence my decision, and if it’s worth the price. I am still deciding between engineering and business but im leaning towards engineering (and UGA’s engineering program is very new/less known)
UM is generally held to be a better university academically. That said, $25k a year is a lot of money. You must weigh up whether it is worth an additional $100k. You might want to save that for grad school.
Also, where do you want to live? UGA might be much better known in Atlanta than UM. That’s an important consideration.
Michigan will likely offer a better experience, it is up to you and your family if it worth $100K. If it was me, I would stay at UGA unless you want to attend something specific like CS, engineering or Ross at Michigan. @klingon97 is right - save the money for grad school!

Actually TooOld4School, if there is one way in which UGa can compete with Michigan, it is in the experience department. UGa is a very old university (founded in the 18th century I believe) with a proud heritage and a gorgeous campus. The students are friendly, school spirit and campus life are great, and Athens is a very nice college town.
That being said, Michigan is superior in Engineering. So, if cost of attendance is not a concern, Michigan over UGa makes sense. But if the cost of attendance is too much of a financial burden, then I don’t think it makes sense.
Well I did apply pre-admit to Ross and I’m still waiting back. I would want to go to either ross or the coe at UM. I do agree that if I wasn’t going to ross or coe it would better to go to UGA and save for undergrad
