University of Iowa for undergrad writing/bio??

I'm a highschool senior (3.85, 25 ACT, good extracurrics, etc.) and have already narrowed my choices--half of my college apps are done...

I came across University of Iowa, having recently heard of the stellar writer's workshop--for graduate level. Being interested in Biology/writing/creative arts I was wondering if this university would be strong?? And REALLY was wondering if the undergrad english/writing department is as wonderful as the "No. 1 in the nation writing program" that is housed their.

One thing I just can't seem to get past... It's Iowa!

If anyone knows anything about this--especially if you've gone there--I'd love to hear from you. I came upon it last minute and was just wondering if it would be WORTH applying to... it wouldn't be an arduous process and I think I'd have a very good shot at getting accepted. It has a VERY high acceptance rate.

Let me know what you thing..........

Hello from Iowa! Iowa City is unlike most places in Iowa, it's incredibly supportive of Iowa students and a great college town. But on the programs, Iowa is in fact a great undergraduate school for writing. I have a friend in the program and he loves it and feels he is growing as a writer with supportive teachers and very accepting community of fellow writers. The program I can't rate any higher, they have had many writers from all over the world come and lecture. Biology I can't speak on but slightly unrelated, I do know if you're interested in the dying science of agronomy, you should go to Iowa State.

On admissions, they have a system where you put your stats into a calculator, and if your score is above a certain number, you are guaranteed admittance. I'll provide a link if you're not familiar.

They also give out crazy scholarships!
