University of Mary Washington?? Pre Pharmacy?

Hi everyone, I'm new to this but wanted your opinions. I'm going to be a senior this year and want to be a pharmacist. I was thinking of maybe going to Mary Washington for 4 year to get my BS in chemistry and also get my pharmacy pre requisites done then transfer to a pharamcy school...maybe VCU. Im not sure if this is a good idea or about how good of a school Mary Washington is. I live in Northern Virginia so I'm in state. Thanks in advance for any information you can give me to help me make a good choice.

UMW is a fine school. What is important is if it is the right school for you! Tour, visit, talk to current students. Be sure to visit other schools as well so you have something to compare to.
Information regarding admission requirements and average grades/gpa is easily found online, through your guidance counselor and of course, by contacting the admissions office at UMW directly. From personal experience I do know that the administration at UMW is more responsive if you contact them by phone. Their web site would not win any awards…
Good luck in your college search!

we’re in nova too --U. Mary Washington is a very good school! You’re only about an hour and a half drive away, so do go visit. It’s a really nice campus, and is known to have friendly students. It has more of a liberal arts college feel since it’s smaller than most state schools. I really am not familiar with Pharm. programs, but also look at George Mason, Cristopher Newport, Old Dominion

You’ll find a lot of info. on stat ranges for all the VA state schools here:
