just realized i filled out the completed credits part of the application wrong. i put 12 even though it was actually 13…
@umdquestion I wouldn’t worry about that at all. They know people are gonna make simple mistakes like that. I probably messed up somewhere on my app, don’t worry about it.
feel like im at a huge disadvantage bc i dont have a college level math or english completed … my current university said i was exempt from english bc my act english section score was a 32
@tallpolyglot Well just recently I’ve been able to access my computer all day so I went on to check. (just like everyay lol) For some reason for the past few days though when I typed in “umd.edu” it was a different form of html, all white background with a single line of blue links “academics, admission, athletics…etc” So Id have to go to my most used websites where it would redirect me to usual undergad admissions directly. Today though, about 20 mins ago or so when I went on the main umd.edu website was different as if they’d updated it. So I figured that was what was going on. But now when I click around it tells me theres an error, something about there being too many people trying to access it. I have nooo idea if this is a sign today will be the day…
@umdquestion If they “exempted” you, that means they gave you a credit for the course! When I was a freshman I was given credit for two English courses because I took AP exams. That being said, UMD may have a different requirement for their ACT placement, so you may end up having to take the course at UMD. But they will count the English credit in the sense that you earned it at your previous university. As far as not having a math course, I’m not sure.
@umdquestion Once you are accepted you take a math placement test online and that is how they determine what math level you are at.
oh wow i didnt know that thank you for responding @ss021798
@roro17 that issue you’re having has nothing to do with UMD. That is caused on your end by compability issues with your browser. Usually if you reset your browser, close all the windows, or reboot you will be able to view the website in HTML again.
@roro17 I definitely see what you’re saying. The main UMD page is completely different. & when I first attempted to access the website by typing it in it sent me to an error page. Then when I clicked the link to the website on Google it actually worked. But who knows what it means.
This waiting process is giving me major anxiety sigh. 10 more min! Hopefully they release those decisions today!
@robertw96 we all hope they do. Ridiculous how long it’s taking
One minute. Let’s all cross all of our body parts
if its not up tomorrow… smh man
I could cause you all to have a collective aneurysm by saying I got my decision
WHY ARE THEY TORTURING US?
It will most likely be by the end of the week. Like Friday.
I am so irritated
so then Thursday? UMD has really messed up this year.
Thursday if we’re lucky.
I know it’s a tough job and I’m really trying to be understanding, but I feel like the least they could do at this point is give us a set time and date. I can’t spend two more weeks like this
