University of Maryland-College Park Fall 2017 Transfer Discussion

I’ll be impatiently waiting for this email all week long. Fingers crossed everyone!

Nowhere does UMD announce they will be releasing decisions this week, but everything points to it that they will. How does one see the “housing glitch” on their application page in “applyyourself”?

@sml101 From what I understand, it appears at the bottom of the application page on the same day that decisions will be released. It just says “Housing and Dining Agreement (For Accepted Students Only)”

@bbe267 Ah okay, thanks. I’ll be looking for it, but if I were to get it I would expect to see it later in the week.

Wait, we had to submit a high school transcript as well if we completed fewer than 30 credits? Crap, I’m freaking out right now. I submitted my application on February 28th in time for priority, will this interfere with the decision? I have applied to UMD previously for my senior year of high school!

If your application is still posted as incomplete at the admissions portal then most likely they have not reviewed your application. They will not look at incomplete applications until the application is fully complete. If you have less than 30 credit hours, you have to submit all high school records and an SAT or ACT score.

Crap… So does this mean I can’t get a priority decision? It says my application is incomplete. @6b32aa

Chances are probably not I think it would be on a space-available basis. Their website says that the application materials must be postmarked by the deadline for consideration.https://www.admissions.umd.edu/apply/deadlines.php

@6b32aa Do you think it’s possible that they can pull up my old application from last year and get my transcript from that? My high school transcript is not going to change since I’m already in college. By the way, thank you very much for all the help

Since it is a new application most likely you will have to resubmit all documents again. If they were able to do that most likely they would have done so already. I would give them a call tomorrow as early as possible to get that figured out with the admissions office. Especially since we are a couple of days away from getting our admissions decision.

Yeah you had to turn in your high school information again. I applied as a senior in hs last year also but i had to turn in my final transcript and re send act/sat scores.

i checked last year’s transfer thread, decisions were released at 4.14, so hopefully decisions will be out this week

I emailed UMD last night for the whole high school transcript thing but they did not reply. I checked the UMD portal, and it replaced “high school transcript” to my college’s transcript which has already been received so now it’s listed two times and it says now my application is complete? Never have been more confused lol.

Honestly I would call them. Emailing them won’t get you as quick of a response.

I contacted admissions yesterday, and they said we’ll know in the next two weeks. Looking at last year’s thread, this isn’t necessarily true. Hopefully we know something this week.

@DragonFire16 That’s a bit disappointing. :\ I took “by mid-April” to mean before April 15th.

I bet they will either do it this week or very early next week. Maybe release them on that Monday, the 17th since the 15th was over the weekend.

I think they just say that to give themselves more time if they need it. Hopefully they are underpromising and planning to overdeliver.

@CasimirPulaski1 Judging from past threads, it looks like we’ll be hearing this week or early on next week. I wouldn’t worry too much about what they said.

This is the response I got from them earlier today regarding priority transfer student results:

Hello Stephen,

Thank you for your email. Decisions for priority transfer students will be going out at the end of next week.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further questions, and have a great day!

Best,

Christine Lukban
Admissions Counselor
Office of Undergraduate Admissions

So it seems to me that we will hear back on the 21st… a little late there, UMD don’t you think?
