Alright so I kind of have this dream of becoming a research psychologist, you know the kind that works with the college performing experiments and enlightening the world with knowledge on humanity and its inner workings? However, I'm not sure about how ample the salary of a research psychologist is, so my second plan is to become a psychiatric nurse, something that still ties in with my psych major (or minor?), is flexible and will have an easy time finding a job, with a decent salary. This way I could hopefully work my schedules as a nurse and scientist around one another and get the best of both worlds, living my dream AND making money at the same time.

However, I'm also very interested in screenwriting, like designing cartoons, and even movie scripts and the like. I love to write creatively, especially fiction.

In addition, I love band, and would like to continue to be able to play my flute. I'm not so fond of marching, but playing I really enjoy, and I work very hard at it and as I've been playing for about 8 years I'm fairly good at it! (Or so I'm told) For this reason I'd like to be in a good program that will hopefully challenge me as a musician.

Right now my top choices of colleges are University of Maryland and Rutgers. Is there one of these that is a better fit? All I know is what I've seen online, I haven't been able to visit, and really get a feel for them yet.

Some other colleges my parents suggested were La Salle and Temple, though I'd prefer a college that isn't smack in the middle of a huge city. (I prefer a more suburban or rural setting) So if there are any other colleges within three hours of New Jersey that sound like a good fit for me, feel free to recommend them!

I know next to nothing about colleges in the north-I was planning to go to schools in Texas when suddenly things got crazy and my dad got a new job in New Jersey, so we're kind of having to scramble to find colleges now, as I want to stay by my family. Thank you so much for any input and advice!
