Deferred, 1490, 3.7uw/4 1 w, 2 varsity sports, 3 year president of a non profit, other ECs. Not speaking of my son specifically, but for those with high stats that were deferred, I think this is a play to increase ED2 applicants and preserve their yield. Could potentially backfire as many kids like mine are starting to envision themselves at other schools.

idk but its a whole lot better than being waitlisted
okay i’m prolly wrong but from what i’m seeing, there’s yield protection going on. a lot of us who had really good stats are getting deferred but idk don’t quote me on this

I just told my D this. She’s deferred from Miami ( her dream school) but accepted to several great schools. She’s so hyper focused on Miami she’s not even excited about her yes’s. Frustrating

Athletics- varsity athlete for 3 years on three sports(will be 3.5 after this year- missed one season due to covid)
