how do you know if youre waitlisted? can transfers be waitlisted?
CHECKED PORTAL TODAY AND DECISION TAB HAS DISAPPEARED. ANYONE ELSE THE SAME?
Everyone else’s the same
lol @mcfamilyof4 they have been gone for a hot minute
So we’re thinking next weekend, not this weekend?
There was at least one (1) report of a waitlist decision on the following dates for the last 3 years:
I’m going to “go out on a limb” and say that someone may hear in about 7-10 (+/-) days. Just speculation.
My man @sushiritto is back. Love it. I believe that the 24th is a popular day for it, as ive heard several of my buddies from the grade above were given the proverbial “nod” or acceptance on that day.
AO are following guideline of mid to late June, but some decisions seem to come out late May. I was literally told late June on May 24th and then advised to have my son check his email right after online discussion with AO for good news. Hope some can hang for the ride.
Sent a LOCI in early April to my AO and got the stock response people have been posting about. Just a few days ago, I sent them a follow up just reiterating my interest after a month had passed. I got this reply and guessing its pretty typical?
Dear _____,
Thank you for your email/update. I have forwarded your note to our office for processing and we will be in contact if anything changes with your status - Go Blue!
@yarrow0321 Did you get a reply for your May LOCI? I got a similar one for my April LOCI, but I didn’t get a response for my May LOCI.
@yarrow0321. Yep stock answer. I think soon college’s will have AI and just have the computer send these out rather then use human resources. Get excited about the school you deposited to. Go on their Facebook and learn about the school more and which clubs and organizations you want to join.
A family friend called U of M admissions to get information about when waitlisted student admittances will be released. He was told that they will not be taking students off of the waitlist this year.
@pearl83 why is this your first post and why would they disclose that information to a random parent?
@joliemorgan Hi, it’s my first post because I decided to join just to share that information that I thought some may find useful to know. And yes, I agree with you; I am unsure why they would disclose that information. Thus, it shouldn’t be taken wholeheartedly but it may provide insight.
They admit by school, If the above info is true, It means that every school has either reached target or over-enrolled. so they over-enrolled a lot…
If true, and UMich will not going to their waitlist, then another possible alternative is that UMich effectively managed their freshman enrollment thru each of the RD waves (2/1, 3/1 and 3/29).
As stated prior, I think there was more acceptances in the start of this. I really don’t think we are going to see the numbers they had of the last two years. I am sure they don’t want that either.
So if they know this answer, then tell people and be done with it. I doubt many commits will decline their offers if they get off waitlists elsewhere. C’mon Michigan - continues to deliver the worst experience during this process compared to 13 other highly selective universities we’ve dealt with
Some AO may have big mouth and get it out before the official release. If true, they should make an official announcement in the next few days.
Many schools have something called extended wait-list, to fill the gaps created by the dropouts of committed students.
The number will be small and the waiting can last well into summer.
hey !! ok so ive been watching this thread for a little while and i really hope a lot of you end up going to your number 1 school !! i applied as a transfer but didnt get in (a problem with my credits) and i was told to apply again/roll over my application for winter 2020 with my new grades. ive read previous winter transfer threads, and it looks like a lot of people get accepted during this semester, so if you guys dont get in theres always hope to transfer !! you were good enough to get waitlisted and not rejected, so take this as a good sign and apply again !! also, all of the times ive contacted admissions (by emailing my counselor or just calling the admissions office) theyve been super helpful so you can always do that as well
