I don’t think everything is Austin, but yeah I can say the ladies are good looking in the south, and the guys are good looking in the north (I’m was raised in South Dakota, So I can see at least).
Oh my, Michigan is a beautiful campus. It was ranked one of the gorgeous campuses here in the US. And the Big House makes it better
Austin it more of a modern artistic theme, which is ok but I don’t know it for some reason doesn’t suit me. But they recently build a new engineering building, Which (oh my) is a dream. Texas engineering is making a comeback.
The Party Scene (from what I heard) is amazing at Michigan, and ok at Texas. Yeah, Austin has sixth street, but Michigan has a lot of restaurants. And come on, the School of Music, Dance, Theater is booming as well.
Could be, I’ve seen people get in with a 3.7 to 3.6 GPA. the cut of line is a 3.4 (but usually most of them get rejected) so.
I don’t have any statistics from last years data on who got into engineering. I will have to find out, but yeah I heard it is competitive (but not as competitive as UT). Even the common data set won’t help me much, as it’s for every major.
Just gave them a call, their average GPA as a 3.9 (I sort of screwed now) but I’ll try none the less. Do have a safety school behind my back so its all good.
@Alexandre I live here in Austin and people are flooding in. The campus itself quite crowded with 50k students in a small footprint. Crowded isn’t a good thing.
I have no connection to UT besides friends that have attended. My kids were accepted to CS and Engineering honors but chose to go elsewhere.
But I’m not objectifying women, that’s the job of pageant’s (I don’t like pageants). I’ve seen post ask about who are girls at other schools, and I’ve seen the same for how are the guys at the schools. I have the right to ask that questions and have the right to receive it. If you don’t like it, I wouldn’t say anything.
I will accept people advice to have a positive tone when typing. Plus I’m not forced to accept her advice, after all, she stated her thoughts, Which I highly appreciated and took into consideration to an extent. Good, she is the mom of two teenage boys. I the older one in my family that (more/less) does the same as any other kid will.
Thanks
P.S. Moreover, I’m already safe as I don’t do anything stupid, like date ladies who already have guy friends. If people are rude I shut them up, If they are nice, I’m pretty chill.
You won’t be admitted to either, so perhaps you should spend your time worrying about what colleges would actually accept you rather than where the girls are hot.
This is pretty harsh. The OP’s grades are lowish, but his ACT should get a look. Agree that he needs to develop some safeties.
Traditionally, Miami of Ohio is often used as a backup to U of M in the Midwest. Also, Ohio State’s selectivity has increased to the point where it can be considered a "near-peer’ of U of M. Among the Big Ten schools, Ohio State’s selectivity stats now rank third behind only Northwestern and U of M, and ahead of Purdue, Indiana, and Wisconsin.
Both Miami and OSU have milder winters than Ann Arbor, and very good-looking student populations.
No more harsh than his evaluation of the sexual appeal of women at two large universities for which he is unqualified. He is out of state and applying to highly selective majors.
BasicOhioParent, while it is true that OSU is more selective than in past years, it is not clearly the third most selective university in the Big 10. In fact, after NU and Michigan, you have 4 Big 10 universities with similar selectivity standards:
Ma’am you don’t know that. Sure chances are low but I will fight for it. And I’m now objectifying women (again) just wondering how good the student body looks. Girls are not in my concern (again) its a curiosity ok?
Were your kids in the top 7%? And also what school (like name) if you don’t mind be asking? Yeah I agree UT is a safety school, Yet Why do so many people go there? And if kids get rejected from UT, where do they go?
@jaysaini8 , I wouldn’t call UT a safety school, unless you already have automatic admission. The only kids I’ve seen gain admission to Michigan with a 3.4-3.5 have a serious hook like a recruited athlete, or go to a feeder school and have very high ACT/SAT. None of them went into engineering.
Oh no, UT is not a safety school, I fell Michigan is more safer to get in than Texas. Oh yes I’m aware of the circumstances. Will Letters of recommendation change my admissions (say I did some research in my high school) and my mentor is willing to write me letters. Could that chance my admission.
Large public schools with tens of thousands of applicants don’t spend much time on recommendation letters; generally they use a quick formula for GPA and test scores, absent a hook.
