Looking over the UMich website I can’t find anything about ED only EA and RD. I thought early decision might give me the needed edge when applying… I will definitely commit financially if I am accepted… Does anyone know or have experience applying ED to UMich?
Michigan doesn’t offer ED, just EA
Like tigerman333 said, there is no ED option at Michigan. My guess is that they have too many applicants to do something like that.
Applying EA is still better than applying RD, though. It gives you a second chance if you are not accepted in the Early Action round, and it shows a bit more commitment. If you are in-state, be sure to apply EA because they fill many, if not most, of their in-state seats during EA.
Thank you I thought that might be the case
Actually its not the number of applicants its more of the ability of UM to meet 100% of FA for an ED applicant. Can’t accept someone ED and then say there not going to meet their financial need, wouldn’t make any sense.
But that’s what most Universities that offer ED do. Most do not promise to meet full financial need.
True, but it makes it an easy out for the applicant if they don’t meet there financial need, but I do stand corrected.
