University of Michigan Fall 2020 Transfer Decisions

@transferstu5487 How important do you think the letter of recommendations are. I didn’t have any…

I only had two. They might consider you more if your rec letters are amazing but it’s mainly your essays and academic profile they look at.

Hey guys! I heard that UMich is having spring break this week. Does this means the admission process will not proceed this week? Or is the spring break only for students and school officers will work as usual?

@sunzhiyuanx I think spring break is only for students? But I’m not sure

I looked at the thread for 2019 fall transfers and some applicants received decisions during spring break 2019.

Luckily, I got my admitted decision on Friday February 28th just before Spring Break.

@404materials I also just uploaded my gap year report required after their initial review for my application! I think that’s fine, won’t affect too much, what really matters is how qualified you are academically. BTW I emailed my counselor to ask whether that will put me in the space-available pool and he said it won’t. So rest assured!

Hey guys, I go to school in China and my school was closed due to the coronavirus so they literally just received my transcript. My application got withdraw from the pool and then they put me back in as I called them about my situation. Do u guys think that’s gonna affect my decision? :frowning:

@ashleywangggg Can you specify on your situation, when the application was submitted, what materials has not be sent, etc. Your case is very rare I don’t think anyone in this thread can answer your question well as the admissions can do. Just follow up closely to the office and ask whether materials are still missing if they put you in the space-available pool.

@cattt1107 thanks for your response. Hopefully, them asking for an explanation means that, after their initial review, they viewed us as appealing candidates and that they just need more information to affirm that belief. However, who truly knows? I looked at your stats (hope you don’t mind) and you look like a competitive candidate (take what I am saying with a grain of salt lol). If we are both fortunate, we will both be accepted as transfers. Good luck!

@ashleywangggg 兄弟你得给你那个counselor打电话 不过一般不会影响吧 因为我看好多学校都表示理解高中的transcript 传不上去, 你就赶快跟counselor说明情况就是。他们都会理解的。

@ashleywangggg I believe UMich is fairly tolerant to the late material. A counselor told me that while they could not guarantee that they would be able to review an application if it was incomplete at the time of the application deadline, they would certainly do their best. If your transcript are not submitted with the application, the application will still be eligible for review, pending all other required documents have been received by the deadline.
Hope this helps!

嗯嗯!

Thank uuuu!!!

Did you guys submit a list of all current and future courses? It is mentioned in https://admissions.umich.edu/apply/transfer-students/requirements-deadlines-0, but I was never asked to fill in such a list in my Common App or Enrollment connect?

@94rain I did but I think it doesn’t matter if you don’t. It didn’t even appear in my checklist.

is it normal my common app checklist wouldn/'t let me add my manual added transcript on

I got an email saying this was required.

it just wouldn’t let me add it becuase the only one i was applying for from common app was u of m and it kept saying that u of m didn’t require me to add my past courses on the transcript page. I emailed common app they said its cause u of m didn’t require it. But I compared it with my friend and he said that he had to have it as well. So, I have no idea my application status checklist hS siad everything recieved su do with that what you will

I just had gotten an email giving a list of things I needed to turn in. After it listed those things I was given a link and it pulled up a flow sheet and it gave instructions on where to send it once finished. I wish I could post a screen shot of it.
