University of Michigan Fall 2020 Transfer Decisions

Hi guys. Let’s update each other on our decisions here. There was another thread but it was pretty much abandoned.

Did you apply already @momo03

Yes, I applied last Thursday and they received all of my required documents this morning.

I updated my application back in December. Hope to hear something soon!

If you get rejected, do you have to re-write your application essays the next time you apply, or do you just resend it?

I wrote this in the other thread but I figured I should post it here as well.

Accepted to LSA on 1/16!

My application was complete (All documents received) on 1/02.
Still waiting for my financial aid package as of today 1/28.

Here are my stats/information:

HS GPA: 2.96/4.0
SAT: Taken once in 2015, 1380/2400
2 Gap years taken after high school, I worked during this time.

I am coming from an OOS Community College majoring in Computer Science.
GPA: 4.0/4.0, 57 credits completed (Calculus 2, Physics, DS&A, English… etc) with 14 in progress for the spring semester (Calculus 3, Physics 2, and some more maths).

White male, first-generation college student, family income <$45k, EFC around 9000.

ECs: Not much, member of PTK, some volunteering, and that’s about it.
*Edit: As of 1/23 I was notified that I have been selected as a Jack Kent Cooke Foundation CC Transfer semifinalist.

Also applied to: Some instate safety schools, Pitt, UW-Seattle, UCLA and UCB, UVA, Yale, Cornell, Brown, Duke, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, USC, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, Northeastern, Rice, WUSTL, and NYU.
I haven’t received any other decisions yet, but I think Pitt will come soon.

congrats!!

Hey! Did anyone get the “continued interest’” tab pop up then have it disappear later on? I got that yesterday and I’m assuming that I’ll hear back soon.

I submit my application on Jan 21st and all materials was received on Jan 24th. I am expecting to get result soon. Currently I am a 2nd year student studying at a Chinese university, applying for CS at Eng. GPA 3.97/4.00, TOEFL 110.

Yo, I got that the other day too! I submitted my app on the 23rd but they didn’t receive all my info until the 28th. Went away quickly though. I would say I’m hoping to hear something soon but given the fact that I applied so close to the deadline and that my stats aren’t “exemplary”, I’m not really holding my breath.

It was weird. Maybe we’ll hear back today alongside the regular decision people

Good luck to ya!

Hey everyone. I applied to Michigan with minimal college credits but a large chunk of AP classes. Do I have to send an official AP transcript for Michigan to acknowledge my scores if I already listed them on my common app? I’d want to send it today if it’s required before the deadline.

Nope, I asked them this and they said AP scores are not required to make a decision.

Does anyone know if having a lot of AP credit when applying for transfer is bad? I have 33 hours of AP at my current University (26 of which are transferable to Michigan). Total I have 49 hours right now, and 65 hours by the end of this semester. I just get the feeling they’d much prefer seeing those classes as college coursework in your transcript rather than AP scores. Otherwise my GPA carries little weight because it’s over 1-2 semesters. And though I did well on my AP exams, my HS grades weren’t really all that good.

Does the time you submitted your application/time they received your materials impact your chances of getting in?

rejected from LSA today :frowning:

Sorry to hear that. when did you apply, what were your stats and who was your admissions counselor? Sorry to pester you so much.

I applied Jan 23 & and they received my materials on Jan 27. Admissions counselor is Rachel Taylor. I’m a sophomore with around 35 credits (I think), not counting my current semester. I have a 4.0 GPA & got a letter of recommendation too. I applied last year as a high school senior but was also rejected.

Although I am pretty bummed for getting rejected twice, even though my stats are pretty good, I am not too bothered. My success does not rely on them. If they don’t want me, I am not desperate.

That’s a good attitude to have! sorry the news couldn’t be better and thanks for the information.
