Hey guys, I applied to UMichigan’s music major (specifically Performing Arts Technology major).
I have my interview this Friday, but I have NO IDEA what’s it gonna be about. I think the faculties won’t ask me to answer some musical knowledge related questions… but I still want to prepare for it.
So if any of you guys took U of M’s music major interview, can you plz tell me your experience? What kind of questions did you get? Also, does anyone know how influential an interview is for the admission?
I can only answer your question in a very general way - not specific to the school or program. Just be honest with your answers - no matter what they ask you about life/goals/music. Just relax and be very real. It’s the best way to get the right fit for a school. Have faith in that. I’ve heard it said many times, they can tell if you are honest and sincere as opposed to trying to find the “right” answer. Good luck!!
I auditioned for violin performance today at UMich, and the faculty just asked, “What do you want to do with the violin?” So it was more of a get-to-know-you kind of thing at the end of the audition, not an interview. That probably doesn’t help much for your performance tech interview…but yeah as bridgenail said, just be yourself and everything will turn out alright
I am following this…
