The website for the University of Mich asks for not only artistic achievements but academic and community achievements. I assume the resume should be one page but having trouble getting everything onto one page. Anyone have a sample resume they did for U of Mich they’d be willing to share to see how you laid it out or any advice on how to format it to fit it all in?
@frisbee3 I am no expert…but my daughter is a UMich MT and I can tell you what we did. 1 page resume. I know some people have two resumes, an artistic and an academic one. But we didn’t do it that way. We did one resume which was artistic. We let her grades and scores (which were very good) speak for themselves. We did include the languages and AP Music theory on her resume because we thought that was relevant. We also cut theatrical roles short (nothing before high school I would say unless it is with an equity theater) and only roles that showcased her voice and she would be prepared to sing for them if asked. I would highlight if you have won any major awards. But keep it to a page - no one wants to read more than that. Don’t overthink it! If you are a good student with scores in the range they accept - it’s all about the audition! BAL
