University of Michigan RD class of 2020 thread

im most likely going to attend umich, but i also want to attend ucsb just because its closer to home. honestly, im not sure if anything changed bc i didnt really care for michigan at the time (i didnt think i would get in so i tried to stay emotionally uninvolved for the whole process) so i didnt check the portal often. but i think nothing changed bc there was no difference btwn when i first made the wa portal to now besides financial aid, which changed just a few days ago.

i think the only reason they are deviating from their usual pattern of releasing on friday is that today is good friday

@clairepear I mean they still come into work. Just because it’s Good Friday I’m not so sure that necessarily means that they would refrain from releasing decisions

@synprk741 thanks. I hope I get a chance to join u at UM too. IMO, UM has way better national name though I understand how nice it would be to stay in CA.

May I ask how you found out your acceptance from UM? By mail, email or checking portal status?

Thanks!

i agree um is definitely better than sb but idk
i found out by email at around noon. i hope you get in!!

Wait university of michigan released decisions today?

@cooljon525 I wish they would… I’ve been waiting for so long… -_-

at least we will know in one week. anyone have any ideas which day it will be?

@Caramel101 I hate to burst your bubble but Michigan doesn’t promise to release all decisions until mid-April.

Maybe theyll release them if michigan beats notre dame in ot

:((

Really? How do you know that? Was it posted on Michigan’s website or what?

@magiciangirl Are you talking to me? Anyways they say “early April” not April 1st.

http://admissions.umich.edu/explore-visit/blog/ea-or-regular-decision-which-best-you

Well, all unis in their websited write April 1st or Early April but at the end is always before…

@NICE8x If you read that thread, it clearly indicates that by this date, most offers will have been made. It says, “As time goes on, more and more students apply, and the available space in each school at the University continues to shrink”. So I would expect that relatively few new offers will now be made, with most being offers to go on the waitlist.

I really hope UMich accepts me…all my reach schools rejected me (except for the Ivies, but I don’t think I will get them after so many rejections :(( ), so UMich is my only hope now. But I am an international applicant, like several people here, but I am not sure if my high aid requirement is going to better my chances in any way. :frowning:

did anyone get deferred EA and not send in their second semester transcript… i kinda wanna die

No decision again!

This wait is destroying me

How would you guys choose between University of Virginia and Umich? (for coomunication studies/ business related majors)
